HOW IT ALL STARTED:

In 2000, Doron M. Tisser ran in the New York City Marathon and raised money for Fred’s Team, which supports the Aubrey Pediatric Fund at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York. Doron felt a need to fulfill by doing this since several persons close to him (including his dad) died of cancer. Doron continued to raise money for MSKCC by running in the 2001 Boston Marathon and the 2002 New York City Marathon, as well as other races.

In 2003, Doron decided to raise monies for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of several people he knew by participating in several races, including marathons and triathlons.

To date, Doron has raised over $200,000 in donations from people who support his fund-raising activities. Doron has been pleasantly surprised by the support of the people donating money on his behalf to these organizations. In fact, when Doron speaks to the donors, quite often they would start the conversation by asking when the next race would be and when they could donate money again.

Doron enjoys competing in various athletic events, and at the same time realizes the desire for people to support his activities by donating to charitable causes. It is this support that has given rise to the formation of the Team Tisser Foundation.
